Scholarship Information

To assist in the preparation of professional musicians.



A high school student who has been accepted as a music major at an accredited college or university and is currently a student of a PVMTA member.  

Applicant must have studied a minimum of 3 years with a PVMTA member.

Applicant must have participated in PVMTA Student Recitals and either as a listener or performer at PVMTA Student Master Classes.

Application Procedure:

The applicant’s teacher must submit a letter of recommendation to the scholarship chair.

The student applicant must submit a letter indicating their plans for a career in music and a resume listing their PVMTA participation to the scholarship chair.

Application deadline April 1st.


A committee of members present at the April or May general meeting will review and vote on the scholarship applicant's eligibility and the amount to be awarded.  The award will be paid in two installments, 50% presented to the student following their performance at a recital in April or May and 50% upon receipt of the student’s first semester transcripts.
